How Rochas Okorocha Picked Imo APC Governorship Ticket After Losing Presidential Primaries

Surprise, The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has picked the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in absentia as he was still in Lagos for the party’s National Convention which ended on Thursday evening.

Okorocha’s emergence as the party’s governorship flag bearer in the state came barely few hours after coming fourth in the just concluded APC presidential primary elections at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

APC Presidential Primaries: Rochas Okorocha, Nda-Isaiah Refuse to Step Down for Buhari

Reports reaching Celeb News Arena from Sahara Reporters states that despite getting earlier assurances from the candidates to step down, several of them pulled out from the agreement and stubbornly decided they will proceed to the convention ground to run against the retired general.

The side meetings had led to a prolonged delay of the kickoff of the convention.

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano said on twitter that he is still in the race.

Former Governor of Old Anambra State Jim Nwogbodo Disowns Children

Former Governor of the old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, has disowned his children and said his children from his former wife are not his flesh and blood.

Nwobodo equally accused the two surviving children from his first marriage, Chukwudi and Nonso, of stealing the corpse of their older brother, the late Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, who died recently after battling with cancer.

Ifeanyichukwu’s burial, which was scheduled to hold on Friday, was aborted after Nwobodo and the deceased’s siblings disagreed over a burial site.
Punch reports that, While the father insisted that the body would be buried outside his compound, the children maintained that the grave must be within the residence.

Winners of PDP Governorship Primary Elections

 The Governorship primaries of the PDP held yesterday across the nation. Some results are out! Former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu clinched the PDP ticket for Adamawa state, Hon Emeka Ihedioha has emerged the governorship flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) in Imo state. Emeka Ihedioha won with 346 votes followed by Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume who got 336 votes and Ikedi Ohakim who 213, while serving senator, Ifeanyi Okowa won the primaries in Delta state. 

Former Ministers Labaran Maku and Emeka Wogu who both resigned their appointments as Ministers in October lost the tickets in their respective states of Nassarawa and Abia. While Jimi Agbaje won the Lagos state primaries.

Goodbye Ngozi Okonjo Iweala

On Thursday, November 27, 2014, the PUNCH, on page 14 reported as follows: “Don’t blame me for naira devaluation – Okonjo-Iweala.” In the report, the Minister of Finance, was quoted as saying that “Nigeria has what it takes to manage its way through. Benchmark for the budget 2015 had been lowered to more realistic $73 per barrel. Never in the history of budgeting in Nigeria had a Finance Minister been so often wrong as Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had been this year. 

But before presenting the irrefutable evidence, a quick remark is needed about her self-acquittal from blame for the devaluation. Certainly, the Finance Minister cannot be blamed for devaluation.

New Crash: PDP Governors Angry With Goodluck Jonathan

Strong indications have emerged that governors elected on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) are poised for a showdown with the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and Senate President David Mark over the collapse of the deal President Goodluck Jonathan had sealed with them a month ago.

To express their grievances, the governors are expected to meet with President Jonathan on Tuesday night ostensibly to extract “some commitment from him” before his ratification during the December 10 national convention of the party.

President Jonathan to be Served Impeachment Notice on December 3



According to Rep. Mohammed Tahir Monguno, President Goodluck Jonathan is to be served with impeachment notice when the House of Representatives reconvene on Wednesday.

Senators and members of the House of Representatives had commenced collecting signatures for the removal of the president after the November 20 security siege on the National Assembly. During the siege, the speaker of the House Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other lawmakers were teargased by the
police. House members began collecting signatures that same day while senators followed suit two days after. And already, 200 members and about 60 senators were said to have thrown their weight behind moves to oust the president.

The General Overseer of the Kingdom of God Conscious Movement International, 65-year-old Rev Lord Ojee also known as Nduwusi Kanu is now cooling off in police cell after being fingered as the mastermind of the kidnap and murder of the for­mer Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Godwin Igbo who was 70-year-old at the time of the incident.

The cleric was said to have hired a gang of kidnappers for a fee of N2m, out of which he made an initial deposit of N50,000 for the abduction of Igbo over an alleged land dis­pute and chieftaincy title
of Eze Agu Nechenba 1 of Ikpoeze 1 of Arondizuogu community in Imo State.

Don't dare us - Ex-Militant commanders warn against move to impeach Jonathan

The Ex-militant commanders in the Niger Delta have warned members of the House of Representatives to refrain from its alleged move to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan. The President of the group, Mr Reuben Wilson reassured President Jonathan of their support, promising that they would resist any move to embarrass him.
“They call themselves honourable members. But I can say that for legislators to scale the fence of the National Assembly to gain entry into the hallowed chambers, they have lost the respect of the public. It is only criminals that jump fences to gain entry into places, honourable people do not behave like that. 

Too bad: More than 120 Lawmakers Sign to impeach Goodluck Jonathan

Sad one, More than 120 lawmakers have added their signatures for the impeachment of President Goodluck Jonathan, according to Vanguard.
The impeachment notice is expected to be served immediately the House of Representatives reconvenes in December. The lawmakers, Vanguard reports are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nuhu Ribadu's brother abducted in his farm by gun yielding men

In Adamawa State, Gunmen have abducted Sani Ribadu, the younger brother of the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu.

A brother to Mr. Ribadu, Arabi Ribadu, informed PREMIUM TIMES that Sani was abducted in his farm in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Sunday.
“He was abducted by gun yielding men in his farm along Fufore road at about 5 p.m. this evening,” he said.

INEC Of Wants To Rig Election In 2015 - Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of plan to rig the 2015 general elections.
Tinubu based his accusation on the irregularities being witnessed in the ongoing distribution of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) in Lagos State, saying the exercise has failed.

“This is a colossal failure and it has eroded my confidence in INEC to be able to midwife successful 2015 general elections. INEC must start the process afresh. The exercise must be conducted simultaneously across the 20 local governments recognised by INEC, at the same time.

OBJ, IBB, Buhari and others are the cause of Nigeria’s Problems

The Chairman of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Professor Chidi Odinkalu has blamed Nigeria’s woes on past military leaders of the country.
Odinkalu said this on Wednesday at the 20th anniversary lecture of a non-governmental organisation, Prisoners’ Rehabilitation Awareness (PRAWA), in Abuja.

He noted that Nigeria’s problems began during the military era, especially during the era of General Ibrahim Babangida, reports Nigerian Tribune.
