Presi-dent Goodluck Jonathan has sent a strong message to the Boko Haram terror group that the Nigerian government would no longer treat it with kid gloves.

The House of Representatives yesterday passed a resolution to probe the expenditures of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Maduekwe, on a private jet she allegedly charters for private use and maintains with public funds.

According to the sponsor of the bill, Hon Samuel Adejare who represents Lagos State, the minister maintains the jet with 500,000euros or N130 million monthly

"Thus, in the last two years, the minister has committed at least N3.120bn to maintaining the private jet, which is used solely for her personal needs and those of her immediate family, which is an appalling act"he said. The Federal Government has rebuffed request by some of the delegates to the

ongoing

national conference that their personal aides be paid by the government.

Each of the delegates are to receive N12m for the three months exercise.

The allowance include money for accommodation, transportation, part of feeding (the

delegates are to have free lunch at the venue of the conference.

However, the delegates are expected to have aides such as drivers and personal assistants

in order to ease their works and movements.

However, investigations by one of our correspondents showed that some of the delegates

met in Abuja on Monday shortly after the inauguration of the conference by President

Goodluck Jonathan where the welfare of their aides was discussed.

There was fire outbreak at Christ Embassy today after the massive generator house at the church premises caught fire following an explosion.
