Borno governor visits school where 200+ girls were abducted (Photos)

Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, today paid a visit to the Girls Government College, Chibok, where over 200 girls were abducted on April 14th, to have an on-the-spot assessment of the attack

While in the school, parents of the missing students told the governor that contrary to media reports that 129 girls were abducted, that the actual number is 234. They said the 129 girls earlier reported were science students who were in the school writing their WAEC exams, while the remaining 106 students were Arts students who were at their hostels when the attackers arrived.

School Girls Abduction: Borno State Governor Says, The Last One Week Has Been My Worst Days On Earth

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has said the last one week has been his worst days on earth, since 129 girls were abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok by Boko Haram members last week Monday.

He said 52 out of the 129 students have managed to escape, while 77 are still missing. According to him, it’s even more sad for him because he is a father and this happened in a state he governs. He urged parents to please report to School authorities in case any of their daughters return home, so that they the school can have a proper record of the on-going incident. Nyanya bomb blast victims face hunger in hospital

According to a report by Premium Times, some victims of Monday's bomb blast receiving medical attention at the Asokoro General Hospital in Abuja are currently facing hunger as no one is providing them with food.

 

One of the survivors, Salome Jim, told Premium Times that she's only received drugs and drips from the hospital management but no one has given her anything to eat.

"I have been sitting down here waiting for surgery. I am in pain, I am very hungry. No one has come here to give me food, I can neither walk nor move, the nurses and doctors are nice to me but they didn’t give me food. The nurse said she will come and attend to me at 9:30 amthis morning and this is 9 o’ clock so I am waiting, but when I came here yesterday they took care of me, I didn’t pay for anything, but they didn’t give us food. I went to bed with an empty stomach, the woman inside the ward over there (she pointed) shared her food with me at midnight, as I am here my relatives don't know I am here as I couldn’t find my phone.” She said. Again, Boko Haram kidnaps 103 girls from Secondary School in Borno

According to reports, 103 girls were kidnapped after an attack on a Girls Secondary School located in Chibok, a town on the border of Adamawa and Borno state.

Gunmen reportedly arrived at the school in Chibok around 9pm, killed the soldier stationed to protect the students and took 103 out of the 250 girls that make up the school. The men took the girls away in four lorries.

Wasila Tasi’u, the 14 year old bride who killed her 35 year husband Umar Sani, and three others in Kademi village in Gaya Local Government Area in Kano has been charged with murder.
