He was the president and chief executive officer of First Allied Corporation, a holding company for his varied business interests. He was worth $4billion.

We are sure about the where about of Chibok girls, but won't use force to rescue them - By Nigerian Military

The Nigeria's Chief of Defense Staff Air Marshall Alex Badeh said today, that the Nigeria military has been able to locate the 200+ girls abducted in Chibok on April 14th but won't use force to rescue them because that could put the girls in great danger as the insurgents could kill them.

He revealed this today 26 of May, while addressing a group of protesters, the Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness, outside the Defense Headquarters in Abuja. He said the military knows what they are doing and should be allowed to continue their work

         The recent happening in Nigeria has been so heart breaking, On one faithful day, I heard a news about a latest bomb blast, and when I tried sharing the shocking and heart breaking news with a friend, all I could get as a reply from him was that Boko haram bombing activities in our country is no longer news because of the fact that it happens almost every day.
     Does it mean that this boko haram sect are so notorious that we can’t stop them in any way, what is our security personnel,  that some huge amount of money are being budgeted by the federal government every year for their  monthly and other requirements doing about this?

President Jonathan Sets up 17-member Committee, to Help him Achieve Bringing Back our Missing Girls.

President GEJ has set up a Presidential Committee to help in the rescue of over 200 female students in the custody of the Boko Haram terrorist group. This was disclosed in a just released statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim.

Mr. Anyim disclosed that  the committee has 17 members, is headed by Ibrahim Sabo, a retired brigadier general and will be inaugurated on May 6th. Read Mr. Anyim’s full statement below.

Meanwhile, World Economic Forum opens in Abuja on 7th May, 2014. And there are reports that all government business, schools in the nation's capital will be shut down for 3 days. That the Nigerian government is also advising private organizations with large number of staff to close down as well. This shut down order during the world economic forum is reportedly to ensure free flow of traffic in Abuja.

Good development as Oscars Approves Nigerian Committee For Screening Of Nollywood Films

 Just Ahead of the 2015 Oscars, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), has approved a twelve-man committee of Nollywood stakeholders, the Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC), paving the way for Nigerian entries to be considered for the world’s most prestigious prizes for films.

The twelve-man committee who will select one Nollywood movie each year to be submitted for the Oscars, include Chineze Anyaene, Ngozi Okafor, Olumide Amure, Ramsey Nouah, Kene Mkparu, Emeka Mba, Chioma Ude, Akin Salami, Mildred Okwo, Biola Alabi, Charles Novia and Shaibu Husseini. 

“It is a great opportunity for Nigeria to have a voice in the international film arena”, said Chineze Anyaene, film maker and committee chairperson. More pictures after the cut.

Too bad, Vice-Principal arrested by the Nigerian Police for Raping his twelve year old Pupil

The police in Ekiti State have arrested a 57-year-old Vice-Principal of St. Mary Girls College, Ikole Ekiti, Mr. Ayo Ajayi, for allegedly raping a 12-year-old pupil of the school inside his office.

Punch reports that the pupil had gone to the office of the vice-principal on March 18 and she did not come out as quickly as expected. This was said to have fueled the suspicion of some teachers. One of the teachers, who reported the case to the police, was said to have moved closer to the door to open it but discovered that the door had been locked from inside.
